Weight Loss

Alright. I figured this thing out. You know how I said I hadn't lost any weight for 3 weeks? Yeah, I just figured out why. I've been using the Lose It app, and I have been trying to be under my caloric needs everyday. That's where I'm going wrong. Your body had a minimum daily caloric need for proper metabolic function. If you don't meet that need, your metabolism will slow and will stop any weight loss progress that you think your making. I thought I was eating enough, putting away 1300-1500 calories a day, but with all of the training and exercise I do, I need more than that. I found a website (http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm) that gives a more accurate picture of how many calories you need. Just to stay alive, a person my size needs 1700 calories. And I was exercising every day and only feeding it 1300! So I made a couple of changes. I added calories to my meals in the form of lean protiens, whole grains and fruits throughout the day. I also moved my larger meals to breakfast and lunch, because most of my activity is in the morning. You want to know what happened? I lost 4 pounds in 3 days. Now I know that's not normal, and I don't expect to sustain that, but I think of it as my body's way of catching up for all the malnurishment I've been giving it. I have more energy too. So remember, feed you body if you want to lose weight. Don't starve yourself, and don't limit what you eat. Eat like you will when you're your goal weight.
