Resurrection 2014

We need to stop meeting like this.

Huge vacations from blogging need to stop happening.

Let's start over.

I know I've been on hiatus a long long time, but since last August my job has taken over most of my life.   I don't want to talk a whole lot about it here, but it in short, I hate it and it is making me miserable.  Good news is there is hope on the horizon!  Graduate school!

Since August, I finished the MRTC Road Race Series!  Woo!  Tally marks for two more half marathons! (though they were incredibly painful, I finished!)  They were rainy, cold and miserable, but I survived!

swag.

I have mostly kept up my gym habits, but stress eating and seasonal affective disorder have not exactly kept the weight off.  So, I put on about 20 pounds.  I am doing my best not to sweat it and get back on track as best as I can.

In January, I started a 3 month challenge with ItWorks!  I pledged to try their products for 3 months, take pictures and give reviews and then I would get free things!  It has almost been 3 months, and I will post more about that later.

So, let the resurrection commence!

Road Race Series 5Miler 1

So yesterday was the day.  5 miler 1. But I'm going to start off with Friday night.

Friday night I decided it was time to kick the excuses.  "It's too hot." "I don't want to run in the dark."  No more.  So I joined a gym.  I get unlimited classes, 24 hour access and treadmills with televisions in them.  So no more excuses.  I ran 2 miles Friday and it felt good.

Then comes to Saturday.  I really need to work strength training into my schedule, and the gym offers Group Power and Group Core, so I decided to go to Group Power on Saturday morning.  It's basically constant lifting for an hour.  Bad idea the day before the 5 miler.

I was pretty sore on Sunday morning, but it wasn't too bad.  I had to walk a little while not only because of the soreness, but also because of the humidity.  That was the worst part.  I was shooting for an hour, and I was a little slower than that.  I'm trying to not let it get to me, but it still bothers me.

Let's have a look:

I really wish I could get my pace under 12 mpm.  Last summer I could.  A little upsetting.

Then I spent the rest of the day and this evening eating junk food and laying around.  Not good.

Must remember:
